If you couldn't already tell, I L-O-V-E Fridays!! It means knowing I don't have to get up early tomorrow morning unless we have another activity scheduled (which I try to avoid scheduling on Sat mornings). It also means that I don't have to work at the school tomorrow too! Don't get me wrong, I love what I do since it affords me being able to be at home with my kids and try to be the best Mom I can be, but it's hard dealing with 606 kids even if it is only for 3 hours a day! They are supposed to hire some more help, so maybe it'll get better.

J had a high school "roundup" last night. I can't believe he is going to be a Freshman next year! I just pray that he gets control over his study habits and his grades now, so that his HS experience will be the best it can be! M is doing pretty well in school now. His report card has all Bs and Cs on it and we feel that he has tried his best and we're happy with that! And honestly, a kid with Asperger's in high school, that's not too shabby! A is still on cloud 9 from going to the GWL. I will definitely have post pictures later. They had a BLAST! He is determined to get all As and Bs on his report card since finding out that I am willing to take him there and let him play the MagiQuest game if he does just that. Pretty cool huh?

Well, it's Friday and I still have to go help the elementary kids so, make it a great day everyone!!!

Am I The Only One?

Our occasional cleaning lady is coming on Sunday while we're at GWL. Thank goodness!! Please tell me that I'm not the only one that cleans for the cleaning lady? I know part of it is because I don't want her to know how messy we REALLY are, but the other part of it is the fact that she cleans some friends houses too and if she ever told them how bad mine really gets sometimes I think I would absolutely D.I.E.!!! So my 3 little men and I will be spending the better part of this glorious Saturday cleaning for the cleaning lady because that's how we roll! Oh and then we get to go to the rodeo tomorrow night! Should be fun!!

Goin' to the Lodge......

Our youngest prince loooooves Great Wolf Lodge more than anything right now. It is his favorite place to be. It is an amazing playground for all ages, but for a 9 year old it is Heaven on earth! D and I had planned on taking A and a friend of his choosing for his birthday in March. D gets a LEO discount and I was looking into the dates to be able to use the discount and March is unavailable! :( I kept looking through the calendar for available dates for us to use and we have decided that we are going THIS SUNDAY! We have already lined up "babysitters" for the older boys that don't want to go and called the friend and got him on board. I still need to buy snacks and such for the mini vacay, but nothing else really needs to be done. That's what I love about the GWL. You just show up with your bathing suit and voila! You've got a vacay!!

Alex is feeling all better now. He's been on his antibiotics for about 4 days and they seem to have worked thank goodness! He is so pathetic when he is sick. He is such a baby for a 9 year old! He has grown up so fast so I kinda miss the old days when he was still Mommy's little baby and only wanted me. Cherish the days when your kids want you to hold them and cuddle. Those days are fast fading!

My new washer and dryer are getting delivered tomorrow!!!! I am so excited I can't stand it!!!!! We sold our old washer and dryer to a sweet couple that was just starting out. So we're glad that someone else will get some more use out of it. It was a great W&D for a number of years and still had a lot of life left in it. That's just an old Maytag for ya. Our LG ones better be just as good. I will never live it down if they don't. D was hesitant on buying new ones before the old ones went kaput. Cross your fingers!!

Also, we are getting solar screens put on the house either today or tomorrow. They're not the pricy and if you do it off-season, they are really slow and will more than likely give you an additional discount. Can't wait to see them on!!! I'll be sure to post pics! Have a great day! xoxo

Snow Day, Strep, New Dishes

Hi there! On Thursday the kids in our area were all out of school due to bad weather. It was icy on the roads and the kids were THRILLED to be out for a day. Seems funny to me that they were so excited since they were just out fir 2 weeks, but whatever.... I started to make A do some "extra credit" work for his teacher on his day off and right in the middle of doing it he started feeling bad. (This was about 4pm)

By the time D got home, A was lying on the couch shivering and curled up with blankies and feverish. He had a sore throat, fever, headache, vomiting, etc. You name it that poor baby had it! Friday morning he woke up crying because his throat hurt so bad. I called the doc, took him in, and they swabbed him. S-T-R-E-P!! Gah! Could it be worse? Don't answer that! Anyhoo, $160 later he has been on antibiotics for 2 days now and feels tons better! Thank goodness I took him in when I did. I can only imagine how bad it could've gotten for him over the weekend!

On another note, D and I got some new dishes!! Our old dishes were the ones we got at Wally World back in the early 90's. They were pretty beige and blah, but served their purpose long enough. Here are the dishes. I loooovee them! They have fleur de lis on them and we sort of collect those. ;)

Tonight we're going to dinner with some great friends and their new baby (AKA: Precious Princess -PP for short) and then hang out for a bit at their house. the big boys will want to stay here since they're not much into the baby talk, and A will stay with them since he's still not 100 150%. Back to school!

The boys have only been back in school for 3 days and I'm already ready looking forward to the early dismissal day next Friday and them being out for MLK day. I would love to take them to GWL again, but I don't know if the older two boys really want to go. A looooves GWL! He is already planning his birthday trip. We told him he could take a friend with him too. He's beside himself excited about that!

On another note, next Wednesday, I will be the new owner of an LG front loading washer and dryer!! Yay!! I think we got a pretty good deal on them at Home Depot. Here they are if you're interested. I can't wait to get them! We are also planning on getting solar screens and gas logs for the fireplace. D is trying to make the house as energy efficient as possible. We already changed the lightbulbs and little things like that, but now we're chipping away at the little things. Pray for us!! ;)

Happy New Years!! We're heading over to the Dallas area for a family NYE party. FUN!! Unfortunately, D had to work today and I had errands to run, so we didn't get to have the lazy day I wished for. One perk was getting to eat Fuzzy's with A. Yum-O! Tomorrow we will head to my dad's house to celebrate Christmas with him and L. It will be a good time I'm sure. I have never blogged before and to be honest, I have read many and followed a few, but never really considered making my own. The word "blog" just seems odd to me also.
